Who We Are
NPAK Energy Limited (NPAK Energy) is a public–private partnership of the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan and Industrial Promotion Services (IPS), the infrastructure arm of AKFED, part of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN).
NPAK Energy was established in 2019 to transform Hunza’s power sector through renewable generation and modern utility services.
As part of IPS/AKFED, an agency of AKDN, we combine global expertise with deep local roots to provide sustainable energy that strengthens communities, drives socio-economic development, and protects the environment.
Our Mission
At NPAK, we are committed to improving the quality of life of the communities in the most remote areas of northern Pakistan by expanding access to power through sustainable, renewable, and affordable energy initiatives, reaching underserved regions, and introducing cutting-edge technologies in renewable energy infrastructure.
Our goal is to provide communities in these isolated valleys with a clean, sustainable source of electricity to offset the region’s acute energy deficit. We aim to strengthen public service delivery by creating a self-reliant, sustainable utility operation that ensures reliable and affordable clean electricity for every household in the region, thereby fostering economic opportunities and job creation.
Ultimately, our commitment is to deliver clean energy on a comparable scale to actively contribute towards global climate change mitigation, protecting the environment, and fostering a more resilient and sustainable future for the communities.
